Vladimir Belyakov

Vladimir Belyakov: An academic, historian, and journalist, he is considered the most prominent and widely rated contemporary Russian orientalist. Vladimir Vladimirovich Belyakov was born in Moscow in 1950. He graduated from the Moscow Institute of International Relations and obtained a doctorate in historical studies. He loved Egypt, so he studied the Arabic language and devoted himself to studying Egyptian culture and Egyptian-Russian relations, until he decided to live in Egypt, where he resided for nearly 15 years. He worked there as a correspondent for the newspapers “Pravda” and “Trud” from 1986 AD to 2000 AD, during which he wrote many books on Bringing the Russian and Egyptian peoples closer together, and introducing the Russian citizen to Egyptian culture and Egypt’s tourist attractions. Among his most prominent books in this regard are: “Egypt Length and Breadth... A Historical Guide,” “Egypt... A Tourist Guide,” and “Know Egypt.”
