Emmanuel Laboret was born on October 18, 1971 in Paris. He was born deaf.
She received the Molière Prize for theatrical inspiration in 1993 for her role in Les Enfants du Silence, adapted from the American play of the same name by Mark Medoff: she is the first deaf actress in France to receive such an award. She also became an ambassador for sign language for France (LSF).
His autobiography Le Cri de la mouette, published in 1994, won the Prix Vérité du Canet that same year.
She was a member of the French Coordinating Committee for the Decade for a Culture of Peace and Non-Violence.
Emmanuel Laboret has been a member of the Théâtre Optique International since 1979. He succeeded Alfredo Corrado, Thierry Gonot and Jean-François Labouvière, and took over as director of the institution in 2003.
She is an officer of the Order of Arts and Letters.
